Mr. Rudy is a Patent Attorney with over twenty years
experience in the Intellectual Property Field.  He
has worked for several Fortune 500 corporations
each having aggressive patent prosecution and
enforcement operations.  For the last seven years
his Law Firm specialized in patent procurement,
licensing patents for clients and assisting other
attorneys in their licensing and litigation endeavors.
Recently, Mr. Rudy's career included managing the Intellectual Property Law Department  of
United Defense in San Jose, California. This was a small but active and prolific patent
department of a successful defense contractor.  While working in San Jose Mr. Rudy was
asked by Steven G. Lisa, a well known Intellectual Property litigator, to join him, as an
independent  practitioner, in working on several projects spearheaded by Mr. Lisa. One of
these projects was prosecution of inventions of  Jerome Lemelson, one of America's most
prolific inventors. Mr. Lemelson was represented by  Gerald D. Hosier and a team of
attorneys assembled by him, including Steve Lisa. Mr. Rudy actively prosecuted some of Mr.
Lemelson's inventions as well as assisting Steve Lisa in licensing Mr. Lemelson's portfolio.

Douglas Rudy is a 1970 graduate of Lawrence Institute of Technology. His first post-
undergrad employment was as an Industrial Engineer for The Firestone Tire and Rubber
Company.

After taking and passing the  Patent Bar Exam of the United States Patent and Trademark
Office he practiced patent prosecution and related intellectual property matters as a Patent
Agent for the International Harvester Company in Chicago. He then pursued a law degree at
Lewis University College of Law, now Northern Illinois University College of Law, where he
graduated in the top quarter of his class.  Upon becoming a member of the Illinois Bar in
1980, his registration before the United States Patent and Trademark Office was revised to
Patent Attorney.  He was still with International Harvester after becoming a member of the
Illinois Bar and  was fortunate to be promoted to a senior Patent Attorney position at the
company.  Mr. Rudy was the youngest attorney to attain this status at International Harvester
and was proud of the fact that he filed a record number of patent applications for the company
during his tenure.

While working under the direction of Richard Megley at FMC Corporation, Mr. Megley being
one of the countries preeminent corporate patent licensing and litigation attorneys, and being
mentored by Mr. Ronald Kamp, a senior patent attorney of considerable skill in intellectual
property strategy, also at FMC Corporation, Mr. Rudy learned the nuances of patent
prosecution and the  impact of intellectual property to the success of a company
